Guardian? April 18, 2008

Please meet my guardian angel cat.

Well according to him he is anyhow.

The other night I was sick (random vomiting in the middle of the night cos-I-think-I-wasn’t-reacting-well-to-meds-vomiting not a bug or anything serious wrong) and when I returned from the bathroom, instead of my concerned hubby to greet me there was my cat Sox standing on the end of the bed meowing nicely at me. He then curled up into my side and we went to sleep.

The next day he followed me around the house sleeping at my feet and occasionally talking to meowing at me.

Like my pretty blue toenails?

He does this any and every time I’m sick or not very mobile. He apparently thinks he’s my guardian or protector or some such noble shit…………… or perhaps he just realises he has a captive audience for his cuteness and to shower much petting and affection upon him.

I dunno.

Cats are a strange breed of peoples!

Awwwww, he’s so cute. Funny how the kitties know when you need a bit of comfort. or like you say, know you’ve vulnerable to their supposed charms. (We used to have a family cat called Sox too… quite similar looking to your puss)

You said not long ago that Coal (black cat) is the love slave’s cat. This beautiful furchild is *your* cat.

And he is beautiful.

When I was quite ill once, I fainted and smashed my head. Alpha German killing machine howled the house down so badly the neighbours knew something was wrong. If he hadn’t made such an unholy noise, the outcome could have been quite nasty.

That being said, “K” has a coffee cup that says:

Cats know exactly how you feel
They don’t give a damn, but they know.

Whatever the reason for your beautiful furboy’s need to follow you, he is definitely directing his affection in your direction. It’s nice to be loved, isn’t it?

And yeah, the nails are awesome.

I think 2 out of our 5 cats give a fat rats clacker when any of us aren’t well.
The other 3 are waiting for us to fall on the floor as their next meal 😛

What a sweetie, to stick around and look after mum when shes sick 🙂

My cats are selfish, only want to know you when your sick if you have a high temp to keep them extra warm.

What a gorgeous guardian angel you have!
Animals are very receptive to our emotions and will shadow us when we are feeling down or unwell. My dogs know when I am having a rough day with my fibro and offer themselves as fuzzy hot water bottles. It sounds cute, but having a German Shepherd trying to sit on your lap is not fun.

Dang, my two cats are complete opposites on this issue. One claims that it’s ALWAYS appropriate to express concern, even if the human’s feeling fine and it’s just a ploy to get pats. The other feels that humans are designed for feeding, watering and changing litter boxes, and don’t need affection.

Love the toenails.

I hope you’re feeling better *hug*

I love the toenails – I noticed them even before you commented on them!

Cats are amazingly prescient. Our old Siamese was a very good guardian of us when we were kids. Our ginger now – a very good barometer of how he feels and he will tell you!

He’s adorable. He looks just like my Zippy Kitty. Maybe he heard that it lowers human blood pressure when you pet a cat. LOL!

9. magneto bold too - April 19, 2008

Yeah, I am not fond of cats. But you knew that. But I lurve your pretty blue toenails!

10. Trish - April 20, 2008

My dear old puss was like that … so sweet he is. I hope my new kitten is too.She has his colours too.
Ps those blue nails are cool !

11. Bettina - April 20, 2008

Scrappydo – yeah he is cute. When he wants to be lol

Anja – Oh yes, Sox is definitely my boy. I rescued him when he was dumped. Not to mention that he’s got enough ratbag in him to be related to me anyhow 😉 lol

Jayne – LOL. Actually one of my cats is probably waiting for us to fall over dead too…………

Leigh – yeah cats are selfish like that lol

Riayn – yeah, pets are responsive to our emotions and whatnot. This particular one always seems to know when I’m not having a great day and hangs off me.

Naomi – thanks. It was just random vomiting. I think it was my meds not agreeing with me actually. Reduced the dose and have been fine since. Coal (the freaky black cat) is one of the feed/water/litterbox/ open doors/keep warm when needed types.

Thanks Jeanie. I think cats like this are special

Thanks Subeeds and thanks for visiting my blog.

Thanks Kelley. I may be a cat person, but I don’t expect everyone else to be too 😉 lol

Thanks Trish. It’s nice when they turn out like this one. I hope your’s does too.
