Well, I’ve been reading ya’lls blogs (ok not all of you but some of you) with reflections from the year and resolutions for the year to come and it got me thinking what my own would be.
I guess my resolutions for next year are to NOT
-
get arrested
-
move house
-
be sick for a good whack of the year
-
put back on all the weight I’d lost over the previous 18 months
-
have a hysterectomy
-
have more legal battles with the freak over Miss Lou
-
set my kitchen alight or
-
hit a kangaroo with my car
cos I did all that this year. So. Next year. I’m thinking……………
Financially I’d like to -
-
reduce our debt by at least $250 a month
-
start voluntary super contributions
-
purchase a new lounge suite
-
purchase a new (used) car
-
purchase a full size piano
-
purchase new mattresses for the kids beds
-
learn to stick to a budget & reduce our household running expenses
-
to be able to pay all sporting/music/excursion fees etc upfront this year.
For our family I’d like to -
-
be more consistent with household routines
-
have a couple of camping weekends away through the year
-
have a weeks family holiday at the coast later in the year
-
have more regular family times
-
host friends and family more often
For myself I’d like to
-
be more consistent with my routines
-
develop better sleep habits
-
exercise regularly
-
continue to develop better eating habits
-
lose 15 kg’s
-
get the problems with my sinuses sorted
-
get back into crafting group and prayer group regularly
-
get my MR licence so I can drive the fire truck
We’ll see how it goes. Some of those will be fairly easy (like setting up a payment contribution for the super), some will be quite hard and I am not a very disciplined person. I’m seriously hoping with the hysterectomy sorting a few of my health problems that my energy will soon increase again and with it my motivation.
Edit:- I must also go visit some of my internets (especially Kelley)
Wish me luck!

This is my gorgeous nephew E all kitted up for a game of backyard cricket with the family on Boxing Day.
December 30, 2007

Well its Saturday again. How did come around so fast? Seems like only yesterday it was Monday and I was finishing my Christmas shopping and swearing at Murphy.
So things that have made me smile…..
* Getting my Christmas shopping finished
* Spending time with Miss Lou
* Imagining various painful methods of death for Miss Lou’s father
(ooo the idea of inflicting pain on that prick warms me wee wittle heart)
* The kids faces when they opened their Christmas presents
* Hubby’s face when he opened his Christmas present (it was a NRL Bulldogs watch - very swish and fancy and expensive)
* Screwing with my mother in law’s head (that’s always good for a chuckle)
* Getting to spend some time with Nan
* Sleeping in on Saturday mornings!

We have new neighbours.
While nowhere near as freaky as Kelley’s neighbours, they still do some interesting shit.
Like playing cricket in their back shed at 11 o’clock at night.
It’s a bloody big shed!
Wonder what else they’ll get up to? lol

Miss Lou told me a very interesting story today.
Apparently her freaky father has decided that it is time to teach her the skills that she will need for when she is out of home and free. She’s 13. I would have thought that teaching her to clean her room and do her chores would be more appropriate.
Makes you wonder how soon he was planning on having her test her freedom.

Had some kids prank calling me from a mobile phone last night …….. rang the little shits them back and told them that perhaps they should make sure that the person they are pranking doesn’t have caller id in future
bahahaha
stupid kids

Question?
How do you get your mother in law who doesn’t like you, blames you for being estranged from her son, and who hasn’t spoken to you in 6 months to stop being rude to you at the family Christmas gathering?
Answer -
You start asking her if she got the photo’s of the children that YOU sent to her whilst sitting next to her mother (who adores you) and videotaping the backyard cricket match!
She wasn’t quite game to continue her rudeness in those circumstances! lol
And then a funny thing happened. It’s like a switch flicked in her head and everything was fine again. Before I knew it she was leaning in the car window giving me kisses goodbye and stealing the neighbours junk mail for me to look at!

Miss Lou is PISSED at me!
And I don’t care
Bloody little shit of a kid.
Tell me that she knows how to save money.Tell me that she saves money for credit on her phone and presents.
She hasn’t had credit on her phone for 6 months and her Christmas presents this year……………….. well they were 3 photo’s pulled from her photo albums (wtf?) and glued to a piece of printer paper, captioned in pen, then stuck in a plastic sleeve with no attempt to decorate or wrap. She made the same thing for everyone.
Her brother’s six months late birthday present was a bunch of cockatoo feathers that her teacher had collected to show the class and let her keep. Her sister’s two month late birthday present was a coffee cup one of her uncles gave her that she didn’t like and she had to share that fact with her. What a way to make her siblings feel like unimportant pieces of shit.
Her grandparents gave her $50 in Christmas money. Because her father sent her down here with no money at all. Or luggage for that matter (but thats another story) They want her to keep some of it for when she goes home so she can go to the pictures with her friend. They told her to put some of it in the bank. She refused. They dobbed on her to me. I told her she had to cos she obviously can’t save her money for squat.
Boy is she pissed!
Bahahaha

Yeah, I know its Sunday, but I didn’t get a chance to post this yesterday…… lol
First off
On Monday some people trying to stir crap just made themselves look like d**kheads and that made me smile
On Tuesday work started in earnest on repairing my kitchen and that made me smile
On Wednesday our Christmas Lights Tour was a great success and that made me smile
On Thursday I rearranged our brigade Christmas party so I didn’t have to cater and that really made me smile
On Friday my kitchen was finished except the floor and that made me smile, but I was really really smiling when my hubby was home by tea time after hardly seeing him all week
On Saturday I was laughing all the way when we went Christmas shopping and managed to go to four different stores, park near the front door of each one, were straight through the check outs without a line up and home in only one and a half hours!
And today…….. I got to surprise my Lou by showing up unexpectedly while she was on a shopping trip with her Granma. She’s nearly as tall as me now………. sigh
